This depends on which you choose as each one covers a different percentage of vet bills.

• Big Stuff Cover – up to 90%¹
• Everyday Cover – up to 70%¹
• The Works Cover – up to 80%¹

Please note that some items on your bill may not be covered as exclusions and sub-limits and annual conditions may apply. For more information please refer to the relevant Policy Document.

SPCA Pet Insurance will reimburse eligible Vet expenses incurred by you for treatment to your pet for an accidental injury or illness that occurs while your policy is active. This includes associated consultation fees. Please keep in mind that annual limits apply to consultations depending on your policy:

• Big Stuff Cover – no limit on consultations
• Everyday Cover – up to $300 a year
• The Works Cover – up to $500 a year

You can claim on consultations or diagnostic services from a registered veterinary clinic. This includes in-home vet visits, medical imaging, and more.

We recommend you visit any registered veterinary clinic in New Zealand. If you would like information about nearby vets, you should contact your local council.

Yes – we know that sometimes your pet needs the best of the best, so you’ll be covered for consultations and treatments from any registered animal specialist.

As long as you’re with SPCA Pet Insurance, you don’t need to worry about tracking down or supplying your pet’s medical history. We’ll collect this information on your behalf when you make a claim.

Yes, vet bills must be paid upfront. You will then be reimbursed for the eligible portion of costs if you make a claim.

Yes, you’ll be covered to see any registered vet in New Zealand. It’s completely up to you.
